Challenges of Male Contraceptive Uptake in Indonesia: Opinion of Married Couples

For more than a decade, the adoption of male contraceptive methods in Indonesia was very low compared to female methods. Yet, some settings family planning programs focused heavily on services, while services tend be ignorant. Information from both husbands and wives is needed obtain an accurate understanding use-behavior within married-couples. Hence, objective this study investigate factors associated with use among Indonesian couples. This uses couple-matched data 2017 Demographic Health Survey (IDHS). The analytical sample included 8,427 Chi-square tests binary logistic regression models were utilized for analysis. Findings bivariate regressions indicate that couples lived urban areas, who attained secondary higher education, do not want another child, discuss their spouses, whose experienced side effect contraception significantly uptake results suggest increasing should encouraged through spousal communication about planning.
